Since I am only able to wear clip-on earrings, I am always searching for the perfect pair that combines both classic yet funky beauty with comfort. When I originally discovered this pair while perusing through Amazon, I was at first captivated by the sterling silver runes carved around the earring and the elegant amber glow of the agate stone. I purchased them immediately and was extremely pleased with the customer service, the immediate shipping, and the reasonable price. However, the earrings don't look quite the same in person as they do over the internet. The agate is more of a muted red than a fiery amber unless placed in the direct sunlight, and then it looks exactly like the picture. The earrings are about an inch long with simple metal clips in the back that sadly aren't padded. This brings me to comfort, or the lack thereof. I've had the earrings for three days and have worn them all day everyday while waxing my new car and just lolling about the house. Unlike some clip-ons, if you are stubborn and resilient, you can bear to wear them all day. However, after about three or four minutes, your ears will start to hurt and burn and after wearing them all day, they do cause your ears to feel strange, almost numb, burning, and they do cause your hearing to be a little weird, but only if you wear them all day. Because of this, they are only occasion earrings; the type of jewelry that you put on before going out and take off immediately after getting home. For any other product, this aspect would immediately glean a one star rating, however, having been stuck with wearing clip-ons my whole life, I realize that they are never comfortable. Like high heels, they hurt, they always will hurt, and if you want to wear them, you just better get used to it. So, bottom line, if you are like me and simply cannot wear anything but clip-ons, then these should definitely be added to your collection, they're elegant, slightly gothic, and for the most part, as comfortable as clip-on earrings get. However, if you can wear pierced earrings, then you most certainly should avoid clip-ons.
