It's a shame that more people don't know about Alexandrite.
It's really a beutiful jewel.
When I told my Fiance about the stone a year or so ago she had trouble believing me until we found some in a meuseum where the display showed the effects of light variations on the alexandrite.
For those who dont know, Alexandrite is a tough to find gem that changes colors depending on the type of light it's under, from bright blue to purple, pink and even a sea green. some of them will change from a deep green to a deep red as well. It's really very beautiful.
Anyway, this pendant is very small and didn't come with a necklace but it's delicate and looks fantastic with a matching delicate necklace in the right dress.
She's always showing other women how it changes colors and getting lots of ooh's and ahh's.
The naturally occuring ones can be expensive and will have mixed results in colors so I would recommend actually seeing it before buying it, it's tough to find a good one that's natural.
With the man made stones you dont need to worry too much but it would be nice if the vendor let you know which colors are present in the stone.
