Akoya cultured pearls are high-quality gems, known for their smoothness, near-round shape, and beautiful, deep luster. The luster, or shine of the pearl, is the result of the multiple layers of nacre that build up slowly over several months of careful cultivation inside the mollusk. The Japanese Akoya Saltwater pearl in this pendant measures about 6mm and has a fine white-rose color with excellent luster. The pendant hangs from an 18-inch-long 14k gold rope chain that fastens with a spring ring clasp.
