Amazon.com Review
If you have a passion for perfectly prepared pasta, try making your own delectable lasagna noodles, fettuccine, or linguine fini with this pasta roller set that fits all KitchenAid stand mixers. The three attachments include a pasta roller, a fettuccine cutter, and a linguine fini cutter. Just prepare pasta dough and form it into small rectangles which are then fed into one of the attachments. Out come uniform lasagna noodles, fettuccine, linguine, or angel hair pasta. The pasta can be enjoyed fresh or frozen or dried for later. Complete directions, cooking tips, and recipes are included, though cleaning the attachments can be a bit of a challenge, as they can't be washed in water, and any dried-on pasta particles must be removed with the included cleaning brush and toothpicks. --Marcie Bovetz

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic!   January 5, 2009
I have had this now for over a year and LOVE it! Prior to buying this I had never made pasta before and was actually nervous the first time. No need to be with this attachment. The instructions were easy to follow and I was making fettuccine in no time.

I really would recommend this item to anyone who loves pasta. There is nothing better than homemade, fresh pasta especially since it is so easy.

I did see some say that it was hard to clean but I haven't had any problems with that. They do give you a stiff brush that helps sweep away any debris once it has dried on there. Maybe they should add a bit more flour before putting it through the attachments otherwise I could see how the attachments might get yucky. I usually dust the dough right before putting it through.

4 out of 5 stars Great Pasta Maker!   December 31, 2008
I was a bit worried about getting this, as my mom always made the dough by hand and then cranked out the pasta. Well, my first two attempts at making my mom's ravioli were great!I cleaned it with some water, but I won't use it anymore. It's a bit difficult to clean with the brush, but it's not too bad. Overall, great investment. Try finding it on sale, so many places carry it!

5 out of 5 stars Pasta Pronto!!   December 29, 2008

I purchased an Imperia hand-crank pasta maker a couple years ago, after discovering the ease and joy of homemade pasta, but it was always a big, long ordeal to use it - requiring a big time commitment. So, in anticipation of a dinner party for 12 where I wanted to make homemade pasta as one of the main dishes, I decided to plunk down the extra cash for these attachments to speed the production up. Wow! Was I glad I did - they are awesome!! It cuts the time to crank out a batch of noodles in half, if not more, and I sailed through the process, happily and with way less mess than with the hand crank. Our friends were so delighted by the pasta that they asked me to come over and give them a lesson on how to make the pasta too, so I carted my attachments over to their mixer and away we went. Great purchase, top quality - they're made in Italy, and I'm sure these attachments will live a long and happy life in my kitchen! You'll never want boxed pasta again...

5 out of 5 stars Pasta attachments   December 28, 2008
I have made pasta for years with the old hand crank technology and was very happy. I saw this attachment and bought it for my birthday. The instructions and set up were simple as well as the enclosed recipe for pasta. My first batch of pasta was perfect and I subsequently served fettuccine for Christmas with rave reviews. Also great for lasagna sheets as well as with a thin crust pizza. I am already exploring more attachments. Thanks Kitchen aid for a five star product!!

5 out of 5 stars Amazingly simple   December 26, 2008

I bought both the mixer and the pasta attachment for our house gift for Christmas. First up I tried the spinich linguini in the book that came with it. That was pretty darn good and for someone who didn't know anything about making pasta before I'd say it was a success.

For Christmas day (we used the mixer the first time as soon as it arrived) I made a semolina pasta of 1C. semolina flour, 1C. all-purpose flour, 3 eggs, and a tablespoon of olive oil with a pinch of salt.

The spaghetti we made with it was amazing and I would suggest trying this as your first attempt as it removes the fiberous nature of spinich from concerns when cutting the pasta that you're doing something wrong.
